DHARMA YOGA & YIN YOGA – Danielle Ferne

Yin Yoga

YOGA CLASSES in ENGLISH – EACH THURSDAY 18h30 – 19h30

This hour yin class will be a beautiful way for you to rest, relax, and reset. Leave your worries at the door (for just an hour, or maybe more…) and honour your need for self care and compassion. We must be able to show ourselves love and kindness before we can truly share this with others in a healthy way that doesn’t drain us and leave us feeling burnt out.

Yin postures revolve around characteristics of animals and on the five alchemical elements found in the universal life force that is all around us and flows through us. The life force (chi or prana) is sometimes not obvious to us, but when we give ourselves time to connect with it we feel it’s powerful energy within enabling us to increase our connection to our true nature and nature itself. It’s the combination of the yin (feminine) the yang (masculine) that opens us up to the ebb and flow of the universe.

There will be candles, calm music and essential oils. Come as you are, and remember the pure joy of slowing down and just being. We live in a culture of “doing” but we are “human beings” not “human doings”. We need to make a conscious effort to decondition this pattern, and Yin Yoga can certainly help you in this journey.

I started my yoga journey around 15 years ago in Ashtanga, then I trained in Rishikesh, India in Hath and Vinyasa in 2016. It was with the pregnancy of my first daughter in 2017 that I discovered the power of Yin and it’s amazing benefits on the mind, body and spirit.

This class can be made available online if you can’t make it into the studio- please contact me to arrange this at least 24 hours prior to the class.

Dharma Yoga will give you tools that you can use in your daily life to help you stay connected to what really matters to you…

The sessions will help you practise opening up to essential life attributes such as love, patience, acceptance, letting go, gratitude, forgiveness and presence that help us create more peace, balance, harmony and bliss in our lives.

Dharma Yoga sessions will start with intention setting, connecting with our breath, a Hatha Yoga style warm up, moving into a Vinyasa Flow (adapted to all experiences), a Yin Yoga style wind down, finishing with a relaxing Savasana with the option of essential oils.

When you are living your ‘Dharma’, you are living your true calling in life, you live a life full of contentment and connection with yourself, others and nature. It’s believed that when you are living your life aligned with your Dharma you experience up to 8 hours more joy per day!

You can start self inquiry now to check your alignment to your Dharma by asking:

  1. What do I love? (Passion)
  2. What am I good at? (Skill)
  3. How can I combine my passion & skills to help others? (Service)

    Who am I?

I am a College/ Lycee teacher and I am a Mum of 2. I live in Mijoux and love being out in nature. I have had my fair share of challenging life situations and I know without the tools I have developed on the way, I wouldn’t be in a place to give and help others through Dharma Yoga, which is me following my own Dharma.
